Shinhwa Takes Number 1 Spot After Two Weeks of 'This Love'

The oldest active idol group Shinhwa has taken a number one trophy home just two weeks after the release of their new album, The Classic, with the title song, "This Love."

On May 25, at the live coverage of MBC music show "Show! Music Core" Shinhwa was one of the contenders for the top spot as they were nominated to compete for the weekly honor. Prior to the announcement of the winner, Shinhwa stated with modesty, "We are glad just to have been nominated."

About the head-to-head matchup for the number one spot against K-Pop legend Jo Yong Pil, Shinhwa again volunteered to take the back seat, saying "We are not going to get greedy." Immediately after the quick interview, however, the announcement was made. Shinhwa was number one for the week. Shocked, Jun Jin went down on the ground unable to keep his stance.

Other performers on May 25 included Lee Hyori, 2PM, 4minute, SECRET, Lee Ki Chan, B1A4, VIXX, Younha, Nine Muses, 100%, History, LC9 and N-SONIC.
