Jay-Z NFL Investigation With Geno Smith Because Of A Picture Of The Two Together On Instagram

A Jay-Z NFL investigation with Geno Smith being involved is because the rapper might have violated the NFL's recruitment policy.

The Jay-Z NFL investigation with Geno Smith has to do with Smith's recent signing with Roc Nation Sports, according to Hip Hop DX.

This Jay-Z NFL investigation with Geno Smith on Saturday comes after a picture posted on Instagram by Geno Smith that showed the two men standing together during his agent recruitment process.

The NFL will send Roc Nation Sports a letter of inquiry in hopes of gathering information about the extent of Jay-Z's recruiting involvement with Smith, according to examiner.com. They want to know how involved the possible soon-to-be certified agent was in getting Smith signed.

An NFL rule prohibits agents from having anyone not NFLPA certified, like colleagues or friends of agents, attending recruiting meetings. Jay Z is not certified yet, even though he's attempting to be.

A statement by Smith's advisor, John Thorton, was also evidence that Jay Z was present during the recruitment meets. Thorton said, "I was in those meetings and connected with him on many levels. Thorton would later say that he was misquoted.

Smith was not drafted during the first day of the NFL draft in April and was verbally upset with it. He would be selected by the New York Jets in the second round as the Jets traded up to select the quarterback.

His signing with Roc Nation Sports has come after New York Yankees second basemen Robinson Cano signed with the new sports firm and as well New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz as well.
