Adrian Peterson Speaks Up On Gay Marriage: NFL Star Disapproves of Same-Sex Marriage But Loves Gays [VIDEO]

Adrian Peterson recently announced his views on gay marriage. The NFL star's disapproval of gay marriage was the direct opposite of the beliefs of his former teammate, Chris Kluwe.

Adrian Peterson spoke up about his views on same-sex marriage during an interview on Sirius XM NFL Radio on Thursday.

In his answer in response to Amani Toomer's question during the radio segment, Adrian Peterson said that he does not believe in same-sex marriage but still loves and cares for those who are homosexual.

"To each his own, [but] I'm not with it," said Adrian Peterson. "That's not something I believe in. But to each his own."

The NFL star also said that he has quite a few close individuals who are homosexual, but that he does not discriminate against them.

Peterson said, "I have relatives that are gay. I'm not biased towards them. I still treat them the same. I love them. But, again, I'm not with that."

While Peterson was adamant in his views against gay marriage, his former Vikings teammate, Chris Kluwe supported the other side. Kluwe was outspoken about his support for gay marriage through various media outlets.

After Kluwe's comments on gay marriage, he was dropped from the Vikings team. Many speculated that the reason for Kluwe's leave was because he was very vocal about gay marriage.

Adrian Peterson denied that Kluwe's outspokenness was the cause. He said, "It hurt me to see him leave. He was a good friend of mine and a really cool guy -- probably one of the smartest guys I've been around."

Peterson was firm in his belief that Kluwe was dropped for reasons other than his political views. Peterson stated, "I'm sure the Vikings organization didn't release him based on that. They know Kluwe. They've been knowing him for a long time. They know he's outspoken."
