Galaxy S4 Mini Release Date In Summer 2013: Samsung Reveals Mini S4 On UK Mobile App Site, To Confirm At June Launch Event

Samsung will allegedly reveal the Galaxy S4 mini at a launch event scheduled for Thursday, June 20.

A "person with knowledge of the matter" claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will be one of the new products revealed at the June event in London, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Samsung announced the event on Monday, highlighting the Galaxy and Ativ lineup. The Samsung Ativ line includes PCs, tablets, and smartphones that run Windows 8.

Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy Mini's release date have surfaced, despite Samsung's attempts to keep information about the event under wraps.

On Sunday, Samsung's UK mobile app site listed the S4 Mini with a photo and product number, Engadget reported. The listing was quickly taken down.

Some reports claim that the Galaxy S4 Mini will have a 4.3-inch screen, downsized from the 5-inch S4, with a 1.6 GHz processor, an 8-megapixel camera, and a lower price tag than it's larger brother, the Samsung Galaxy S4.

TechCrunch noted that the Galaxy S4 mini would help Samsung capture more of the iPhone's customers, especially those who avoided the Galaxy S4 due to its large 5-inch screen.

Samsung hasn't commented on the coming Galaxy S4 Mini.

Regardless, the S4 Mini is expected to release this summer. A summer release date would give the S4 Mini a head start on Apple's products aimed at a fall release, and the iPhone 5S in particular.
