Leonardo DiCaprio Is Too ‘Obsessive’ To Direct, Says He Might ‘Spiral Off Into Another Dimension’: ‘Gatsby’ Star Plans To Stick With Acting For Now

Leonardo DiCaprio is confident enough to date some of the most beautiful women in the world, most recently Victoria's Secret model Toni Garrn, but DiCaprio might not yet have the chops to become a director.

DiCaprio opened up about making the jump from actor to director in an interview that will appear in the June/July issue of GQ Australia.

"I've been talking about [directing] a lot," DiCaprio told the magazine. "But I'm still not sure I'm going to do it. When you're a director you have so many different elements you need to be in control of."

Directing a film is a lot to manage, and DiCaprio might not be able to handle the pressure.

"I get very obsessive when I do movies and it encompasses my life," he said. "And I don't know how I'd react to 200 different people asking me questions. I might spiral off into some other dimension of obsessiveness. For now, playing the character and being responsible for myself is what I'm doing."

However, Leo admitted that it's impossible to know what the future will hold.

"You never know I might give it a try. Because it does seem like fun."

Although DiCaprio is skeptical about trying out directing, he has produced a number of films, including "The Ides of March" and the upcoming movie "The Wolf of Wall Street," in which he will also star.

Leonardo DiCaprio can be seen in theaters now alongside Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire in "The Great Gatsby."
