Storms Tornadoes Threaten Midwest: Tornado Touches Down In Bennington, Kansas [Video]

More storms, tornadoes threaten the midwest of the United States today as a tornado has reportedly touched down near Bennington, Kansas.

In the wake of the Oklahoma tornadoes, residents of Bennington, Kansas have been alerted to stay inside after a tornado touched down within the last hour.

There is currently a tornado alert for Ottawa county in Kansas reports the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service also issued a Tornado Weather Warning for Corning, Kansas just a couple hours ago.

Since then, a tornado has been spotted, according to The Weather Channel's Twitter feed:

According to KCTV-5, in Kansas, a northeast Kansas town did experience some tornado damage as a result of an earlier touchdown.

The whole midwest region should be on alert as humidity levels have jumped and warnings are coming a mile a minute.

Authorities in northeast Kansas say the touchdown earlier late last night, but it did not result in any casualties.

Two local businesses were destroyed and residents should continue to be on high alert until 10 p.m. local time.

The Bennington, Kansas tornado was spotted someone who uploaded footage of the tornado conditions to YouTube.

But the warnings are still in effect, especially along the Nebraska - Kansas border, with tornado warnings in place throught the week.

The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center said that Kansas City, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Des Moines, Iowa, could see storms. 

Flash flood warnings, and possible tornadoes also provide a storms threat and residents should be cautious about traveling anywhere in the Midwest until tomorrow. 

With storms tornadoes a-brewing everyone needs to keep looking for updates from the National Weather Service and watch the skies.
