Usher Says Of Justin Bieber "I Just Hope He Matures' After Bieber Investigated For 'Aggressive Driving' [Videos & Gif]

Usher stopped by the Ellen show yesterday, and the R&B star had a lot to say about returning to The Voice, and his thoughts on song and dance pupil, Justin Bieber.

Said Usher of the star's recent troubles with the law, "I just hope he matures."

The 34-year-old Usher confirmed to Ellen he was coming back as a mentor on The Voice next season.

After Ellen asked him point blank if he was coming back, Usher smiled and said "I plan on coming back."

Ellen then asked, "Can we talk about young Justin Bieber for a second? Justin who is you know, I love him. He's been here many times. We had him on the show... first."

Usher interjected with "I brought him here first," referring to how he found and nurtured the Canadian singer.

"Yes," Ellen responded, "you brought him here first. Obviously we've been with him the whole way. He seems to be um.... He's young."

Usher responded, "Key word, you started with young. And I think all of us in some way have humble beginnings that pan out to be incredible and we hope that in his transition as friends and family who has helped him be who he is.

"That he'll continue to just mature but you know in this days age of social media. There is no privacy and that kind of trail and elimination period is kind of done in front of a camera," Usher continued, explaining what it's like to be a young pop star like Bieber in the age of Twitter and Facebook.

This has just not been Justin Bieber's year so far.

The diminutive Canadian pop sensation, Bieber has battled a host of legal issues recently, mostly stemming from his insistance on driving over the speed limit.

Earlier this week, former NFL star, Keyshawn Johnson, and other neighbors of Bieber's complained to police about the small pop star's reckless driving.

Los Angeles County police are thinking of charging Bieber with a misdemeanor for reckless driving and Bieber is also facing another incident where a neighbor said he screamed and attacked him.

Usher continued to talk about Bieber's celebrity this day and age during his intimate sit-down with Ellen yesterday:

"It's been done in many, many other celebrities are product of it and some come out bad and some come out good. I am hoping for the best.  I don't look at as a negative though. I look at it as a teenager.

"A teenager having to live his life in front of a camera.  Imagine if you had to do that as a teenager?"

Ellen agreed, saying, "I can't imagine."

Usher: "Imagine if there were a camera when you were a teenager. Would you of like that?"

Usher remains in touch with his protégé Bieber, telling Ellen,  "Obviously when I can be of help I do so. Reach out and stay connected."
