Apple Inc. CEO Tim Cook Talks Game Changers: Why Doesn’t Apple Make A Bigger iPhone? [VIDEO]

As Apple Inc. CEO Tim Cook speaks about the game changers that the company has in store for the future, the chief executive officer answers questions regarding why Apple has not attempted more daring variations of the iPhone model.

With rumors of an iPhone 6 in the works, Apple CEO Tim Cook addresses the future of the company's products while speaking in an interview at the D: All things Digital conference.

During the interview, Tim Cook mentioned that he has "some incredible plans" to "focus on products." Cook also hinted that Apple may be exploring devices other than just iPhones or iPads, but also devices like the Glass that can be worn on the body, particularly on the wrist.

One of the questions that was asked involved the lack of variations in the iPhone. While the newest model, the iPhone 5, was released this past year, consumers have been wondering why the iPhone has not been changed and adapted like the iPod from previous years.

The iPod has seen numerous models over the years, including the shuffle, nano, classic, and touch. On the other hand, the iPhone has not. The interviewer at the conference suggested that consumers may want to purchase an iPhone with a bigger screen or "phablets" that include a stylus.

In response to this issue, Apple CEO Tim Cook said, "A large screen today comes with a lot of trade-offs" and mentions that customers are not only looking at size but also at other factors, including color balance, reflectivity, battery  life, brightness, and longevity of the display.

Tim Cook says that in creating models for the iPhone, the company weighs all such factors and come out with a decision. Therefore, the trade-offs that exist are the reason why there have not been as many varying models of the iPhone.
