Verizon’s BlackBerry Q10 Official Release Date June 6: Verizon Retains Exclusive Distribution Rights For White Q10 [PHOTOS]

Verizon revealed the official release date for the BlackBerry Q10 on Thursday. The BlackBerry Q10 will be released by Verizon on June 6.

The BlackBerry Q10 features a physical keyboard and the latest BlackBerry 10 software.

Verizon has begun taking preorders for the Q10 and will start shipping on June 6, according to CNET.

Verizon's announcement is making fans of BlackBerry and its physical keyboard very happy, as the company is the biggest mobile service provider in the U.S.

Verizon will offer the black model that has been previously been released by T-Mobile and other service providers, but will also carry the white Q10, to which it has exclusive distribution rights.

Both versions of the Q10 are on pre-order for a $200 price tag with a two-year activation contract. The price without commitment is $600.

The BlackBerry Q10's keyboard resembles that of the BlackBerry Bold, with 30% larger chiseled keys.

The BlackBerry Q10 features a 3.1-inch, 720 x 720 Super AMOLED touch display, dual-core Qualcomm CPU, and 2GB of RAM. The Verizon version of BlackBerry's Q10 will be compatible with 4G LTE coverage.

Other specs include an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and 2-megapizel front-facing camera.

The BlackBerry Q10 was first revealed in January with BlackBerry 10 and the Z10 smartphone.
