Dane Cook Under Fire: 'Fans' React To Cook's Decision To Block Performance From Live Stream Of Boston Bombing Charity Concert [VIDEO]

Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration took place at Boston's TD Garden Thursday night to benefit the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.

Natives of the city such as New Kids On the Block, Aerosmith, James Taylor, the J. Geils Band and Dropkick Murphys were joined by Jason Aldean, Jimmy Buffett, Carole King and others performed to a sold-out concert in support of the One Fund, which was founded by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino.

The purpose of the One Fund is "To aid the most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15," and "proceeds from the event will support The One Fund Boston," Patrick and Menino stated in a press release when they announced the benefit.

The charitable effort raised $37.6 million to aid survivors and victims' families of the Boston tragedy.

Though the concert went off without a hitch, comedian and actor Dane Cook is being harshly criticized for a decision he made in regards to his set during the concert.

Cook did not allow his set to be streamed over any of the audio or video feeds from the show. After, he explained his decision via the social media site Twitter.

"Hey everyone sorry my set was not a part of the live stream or televised! I didn't want any of the new material to hit the airwaves yet!" Cook said.

Fans were not keen on Cook's decision and shortly after his tweet, they let him know exactly how they felt.

"Dane Cook not subjecting his comedy to millions of people is the most charitable thing he could have done," one tweeter said of Cook's decision.

"Dane Cook is a special kind of A**Hole," another said.
