Watch Memphis Grizzlies' Quincy Pondexter Score Date With Miss Tennessee On Twitter

The Memphis Grizzlies were eliminated by the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals 4-0, but the 6'6" Quincy Pondexter has something to cheer about still: he just got a date with Miss Tennessee after asking her out on Twitter.

It all started innocently enough when Pondexter asked who won Miss Tennessee this year?

Miss Tennesee herself, Chandler Lawson, answered Pondexter later in the day:

So, huzzah to that! It seems Miss Tennessee is a Grizzlies fan, which, of course she is—actually there aren't that many Grizzlies fans, so this is actually somewhat surprising.

When the opportunity presented itself with Miss Tennessee's tweet back at Pondexter, the Grizzlies 6'6" 3-point shooting forward, seized it with both hands, tweeting back: "Yup, single? Lol"

In case you were wondering about what Pondexer looks like, here he is at the press conference after his Grizzlies were eliminated from the 2013 NBA playoffs: Miss Tennessee responded to Mr. Pondexter, that yes, she is single. She wrote, "I'm lovin' it! And yes, totally single!"

That's when the Twitter flirtation got real, and Quincy Pondexter asked Miss Tennessee out.

Wrote Pondexter, "Oh totally single? Ditto…Date? Lol"

Well played good sir, well played, especially the "Lol" in case you get shot down. It's best to appear as a joke until you actually go out. But Miss Tennessee was totally down to go on a date! She responded back: "you got it! We've got an audience waiting apparently!"

That's how you ask out a beauty pagent winner on Twitter. It also helps to be a professional basketball player making millions of dollars, but whatever. Good for you Quincy.
