'Glee' Actress Charice Pempengco Outs Herself As A Lesbian And Proud [VIDEO]

Glee actress Charice Pempengco, who plays the Filipino exchange student Sunshine Corazon, thinks there is no time like the present to open up about her sexuality.

During a Sunday night interview with Filipino talk show host Boy Abunda on The Buzz, Pempengco came out as a lesbian.
When the host asked, actress responded in Tagalog, her native tongue, with "Yes...I am."

Her reasoning behind using the show to out herself was her deep appreciate for Filipinos because she credits them for knowing who she is really is.

Although she can't understand why people have a problem with it, Charice asked for forgiveness from those who can not accept it.

For those who do back her for her courage, she gives much thanks. She is now relieved that she can walk out the house without feeling like she is keeping a big secret.

The singer/ actress got her big break when performing on the Ellen DeGeneres show in 2007 after being discovered on YouTube. Additionally, she was seen performing with Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli on the The Oprah Winfrey Show.
