Jessi's Secret Struggle: The Untold Reason She Almost Regretted Signing with Jay Park's Label

In a recent interview with Jay Park, CEO of her new agency MORE VISION and a close friend, Jessi candidly shared the uncertainties and concerns that surrounded her decision to join the record label.

Having officially become a part of MORE VISION in April 2023, Jessi's journey to this point was marked by a brief freelancing period after her departure from P Nation in July 2022.

The Weight of Trust: Jessi's Battle with Betrayal

Reflecting on her past experiences, Jessi expressed apprehension stemming from instances where people around her left or betrayed her during her time as a freelancer.

The solo world tour she organized in 2022 without the support of a company exposed her to severe unprofessionalism, leaving her stranded and dealing with various challenges.

This sense of betrayal and the realization that she couldn't trust anyone were pivotal factors in Jessi's cautious approach to her career choices.

The loss of autonomy that came with leaving her freelance status behind was another significant concern, complicating her decision-making process.

Even during the Rolling Loud festival, Jessi admitted skepticism about the announcement of her joining MORE VISION. The lack of frequent meetings and uncertainty about her own desires and independence fueled her reservations.

 I was very worried in a sense because I wasn't sure. You know because for me, when I worked as a freelancer, many people around me left me or I got fucked over. 

One of Jessi's primary concerns was her fear of trusting anyone, not solely limited to MORE VISION. She candidly expressed her initial skepticism, fearing that others might take advantage of her vulnerability.

I realized that I can trust nobody. At that point I thought I had all my people, but that wasn't it.

Despite her initial reservations, Jessi's perspective shifted after she returned to the stage under MORE VISION's leadership in April of the same year. The experience reassured her, making her feel that joining the company was, in fact, a good decision.

Or like 'I don't know MORE VISION that well. I know Jay as a friend, not as like a partner somebody who I work with.'  

Jessi's journey sheds light on the complexities and challenges faced by artists in the entertainment industry, showcasing the delicate balance between artistic expression, trust, and business relationships.
