Here's what happened.

ZEROBASEONE's Short Livestream Post-Awards Show Causes Heated Reactions from K-ZEROSEs

On November 28 and 29, the prestigious year-end awards show 2023 MAMA Awards was held at the Tokyo Dome, in Japan, with over 50,000 spectators. The event was also streamed online for those who weren't able to attend in person.

Among the long list of artists who appeared at the ceremony, project boy group ZEROBASEONE also attended the event to receive their awards.

On Day 1, ZEROBASEONE was honored with the awards for Worldwide Fans' Choice and Favorite New Artist. On Day 2, the group received their trophy for Best New Male Artist, leading fandom ZEROSEs to congratulate them for their impressive achievements.

When the main event ended, it was shared by K-ZEROSEs that ZEROBASEONE had held a livestream. However, the broadcast reportedly lasted for only two minutes, disappointing some fans along the way.

Some understood why ZEROBASEONE needed to leave, as the group's company was having an afterparty. Nevertheless, they still found the live broadcast too short.

Read their reactions below:

  • "ZEROBASEONE's live broadcast ended when I entered. What is this?"

  • "No, them going to an afterparty is something that I don't want to make an issue about. But I just want to point out that a 2-minute livestream sucks. WAKEONE idi**s didn't even inform me what time the livestream would be and after 10 minutes of waiting, we got ditched after 2 minutes."

Seeing the remarks, others ZEROSEs defended the group's decision to leave shortly, saying that ZEROBASEONE was packed with schedules they needed to tend to.

They pointed out that the boys didn't have any choice but to fulfill their assigned itinerary for the day. Others redirected their frustration towards CJ Group. Here's how they reacted to the comments:

  • "I really don't understand why you're cursing our boys. Why is everyone so mad all of a sudden? They're just going to an after party, is this even something to get angry over? They just debuted as rookies, so why not go to such events?"
  • "They are made from CJ, so how can they possibly reject this opportunity? They're just referring to it as an afterparty, but isn't it the same thing as a company dinner?"

'"So that's why. That CJ bas**rd is the one I have to criticize."
