Girls' Generation Reunites To Celebrate 17th Debut Anniversary — But Where Is Sunny?

Happy 17th debut anniversary, SNSD! In SNS, the seven members flaunted their gathering to commemorate its special day. But what happened to Sunny? 

On August 5, the "Nation's Girl Group" Girls' Generation made K-pop enthusiasts, especially SONEs (fandom), jump with happiness after seeing the complete members in one frame again!

Ahead of their special day, the seven members, Taeyeon, Sooyoung, Yuri, YoonA, Hyoyeon & Seohyun, took their time to wish Tiffany a happy birthday and, at the same time, the group commemorated their anniversary.   

Unfortunately, Sunny couldn't attend the private event as she was in the US. Still, her fellow SNSD didn't leave her out, so they photoshopped her into their group photos, drawing waves of laughter from the members and fans. 

In a photo uploaded by the maknae Seohyun, she wrote the caption:

"Congratulations on our 17 years, SNSD. (Please understand the poor editing. Soonkyu unnie who is always with us in my heart) #GGFOREVER."

In the revealed photos, the octet Taeyeon, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, YoonA, and Seohyun were seen posing together, excluding Sunny. However, they showed affection for the absent member by photoshopping her along with them.

They also chose a photo where Sunny is wearing a white dress, to match the party's white-themed outfits. Looking at them, fans were reminded of their pure and innocent visuals when they debuted with "Into the New World," but this time, the members have matured more. 

To give SONEs a glimpse of the party, Yuri uploaded a mini vlog on her personal YouTube channel, showing the excited reactions of the seven members as they met after a long time. Tiffany also did a gift unboxing session, flaunting fancy presents she received from SNSD.

Meanwhile, the SNS of Girls' Generation also greeted the members by posting its official poster and a TikTok clip by current SM artists YoonA, Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, and Yuri. The four members also showed off their debut cake, designed exclusively for the event. 

Fans who saw this showed explosive reactions such as:

• "It's already Girls' Generation's 17th anniversary."
• "I love you, ladies."
• "Right now, tomorrow, forever. It's Girls' Generation!"
• "Ladies, please come back soon."

Meanwhile, Girls' Generation debuted in 2007 with the single album "Into the New World" and is celebrating its 17th anniversary. In particular, Girls' Generation member Tiffany appeared on JTBC's "Newsroom" aired on July 21, and garnered attention by mentioning plans for full group promotions.
