Shawols Alarmed After OT4 Fans Hint at Plan to Make Onew Leave SHINee — What Happened?

SHINee's fandom, Shawols, are also facing conflict among its members after some OT4s expressed their desire for Onew to leave the team. 

On X, Shawols became alarmed after some fan accounts informed the international community about the worsening situation of the fandom's Korean side. 

Apparently, the issue started between big fan unions supporting the activities of SHINee as a whole and soloists. This suddenly became a personal attack on Onew, leading OT4s to bring back his controversy in 2017. 

For context, SHINee's leader faced sexual harassment allegations in August 2017 in the midst of club partying in Gangnam. At the time, it was reported that he touched a woman's legs three times, but he supposedly mistaken it for a pole after losing balance due to his drunkenness. 

SM clarified that it was a misunderstanding, and the police also passed the case over prosecution for an indictment without detention.

Onew then apologized to the woman and the fans.

Despite this, some fans turned their backs on him and decided to support the team without him.

The criticism against him didn't die down but intensified especially after seeing how Korean BRIIZEs were able to kick out Seunghan from RIIZE by bullying the star and sending 1,000 funeral wreaths. 

According to X, these fans are now holding votes in deciding to use the press and send the same mass of flowers to their agencies.
