Kpop Debut: Lim Kim Blurs The Pop-Indie Divide

Though she isn't a household name just yet, if you have ever gotten the chance to catch an episode of Shut Up Flower Boy Band, then you would know this girl by face. Lim Kim was lucky enough to land herself the role of L from Infinite's love interest in the drama. But before that brief intermission into the limelight, Lim Kim (her real name: Kim Ye-rim) was first thrust into the industry after finishing third place in MNET's Superstar K3 alongside Do Dae-yoon. The two were then set to debut together as a duo under the name Two Months as decided by the company Mystic89.

Although their debut had to be pushed back due to Do Dae-yoon having to finish his studies in the United States, the company decided to pull through with Lim Kim's solo debut with the track "All right".

Before this, a preview track entitled Colorring was released with a lyric video, and 2 weeks before the release of her music video for All Right, a rather sultry teaser was released to keep the audience guessing.

I'd have to say, her voice along with the track is quite hypnotic to listen to. It isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, but I doubt that you won't be watching this music video from start to end. The video itself is simple and very inclined to the lyrics of the song. What really pulls you in is Lim Kim's subtle husky tenor and the way it drifts through the track so effortlessly.

Her album "A Voice" is now available for purchase.
