Sherlock Season 3 First Look [PHOTO]: Benedict Cumberbatch Confirms Episode 3 Filming In August, 'Moffat Is Brilliant!'

With "Sherlock" season 3 nearly finished with episode 3 left for filming, fans are being treated with the first official image from the upcoming series.

In the photo, first published by Empire Magazine, we can see actors Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch posing as Watson and Sherlock Holmes in front of the iconic 221B apartment.

So when exactly is season 3 going to be done?

"I just got the script [for episode 3] and it's another early birthday present, because it is amazing," says Cumberbatch according to Hypable.

"I don't want to hype it too much because we haven't made it yet but what a script! Steven Moffat is brilliant. We [film] in about a week and a half's time."

This puts filming for "Sherlock" episode 3, titled "His Last Vow," to take place through the month of August, as Cumberbatch also says filming should take about four weeks, with a wrap in early September.

This means an official premiere should be forthcoming for "Sherlock" season 3 after filming is completed, with theories being late this year in the U.K. and early 2014 for the U.S.

In addition, Cumberbatch has being quoted to confirm that both he and Freeman are optioned for two more seasons.

So, it seems that despite a very, very long wait for season 3, "Sherlock" is bound to return, again and again!
