X Factor USA And UK Unite With Fifth Harmony, Cher Lloyd Joint Tour: Can Group Effort Improve Poor Chart Performance?
With "The X Factor USA" and "The X Factor UK" doling out pop acts every season, former contestants Cher Lloyd and Fifth Harmony are announcing a joint tour to utilize the X Factor hype.
The "I Wish" tour features 11 dates across the U.S., with Cher Lloyd as the primary act and Fifth Harmony as the special guest.
Both "X Factor" alums have been busy with music activities this summer. Fifth Harmony recently released their first single "Miss Movin' On," while Cher Lloyd debuted a collaboration song with Ne-Yo, "It's All Good."
But the question remains, will both former "X Factor" acts benefit in terms of chart performance with this new tour?
While Cher Lloyd's first album "Sticks & Stones" did moderately well, she has since fallen off the grid after her top 20 hit "Want U Back."
Meanwhile, the much anticipated debut of Fifth Harmony didn't translate as well in terms of sales, with "Miss Movin' On" debuting at No. 85 on the Billboard Hot 100, according to Examiner.
So, despite the powerhouse backing of 'The X Factor USA" and "The X Factor UK," the future for Cher Lloyd and Fifth Harmony seems uncertain at best.
Hopefully with the "I Wish" tour, both Cher Lloyd and Fifth Harmony will see a rise in success.
