Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie Release Date Rumors: Upcoming LG Nexus 5 Smartphone Arriving With Google’s Next-Gen OS?

New reports are claiming that the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie release date is going to be in early October, as it will be spotted running on the forthcoming Nexus smartphone, unofficially dubbed as the 'Nexus 5.'

According to International Business Times, citing Android Authority and a Korean tech site, Daum, the Nexus 5, which allegedly will run Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, is going to be manufactured by LG, based on the hardware specifications of LG G2, which is the follow-up to the Optimus G. Nexus 5 will be the successor of LG Nexus 4 smartphone.

LG being rumored to be working on the next version of Nexus perfectly makes sense, since it is the company that developed the Nexus 5. If the Nexus 5, speculated to come with the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie to be released in October, is really based on the LG G2, some of the possible specs to find within the device are: Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2.3 Ghz, 13 mp camera, 2,700 mAh battery, 3 GB RAM, LTE support and a 5.2 inch full HD display.

On the other hand, Google was reported to be working on a major update for their mobile operating system which allegedly will arrive in fall. Although there was no specific name yet, the unofficially dubbed Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie was known internally as the 'K Release'.

The Moto X is expected to launch next month and experts are hoping that Google will roll out the highly rumored Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie during the smartphone's launching, as reported by Techno Buffalo. But the post also noted, "However, if a new Nexus smartphone is really in the works it would make sense for Google to follow its own precedent and release the new operating system a bit later."

Interestingly, aside from the much-awaited announcement for the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie release date, fans and enthusiasts are also curious if there are truth to the rumors that the new Google operating system is optimized for devices that are running with a little as 512 megabytes of RAM.

Keep yourself updated with more news about Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie release date as the launch schedule for Nexus 5 and other upcoming Android-powered devices quickly approach.
