iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 Release Date: New Apple Smartphone On Sale As Soon As September 6, Rumors on iPhone 5s and Budget Phone iPhone C Comes From ‘Credible And Very Serious Source’

The release dates of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 is abuzz again as MailOnline of the U.K. reports that a German blog is claiming that Apple’s next iPhone could be on sale as soon as September 6.

The British publication says that according to the translation of German blog iFun, the rumors on the new iPhone release dates and model name comes form a “credible and very serious force.”

The German blog noted that the new iPhone models could be on the market as soon as September, which means to say that it could be announced at the end of next month.

The credible source from the German blog added weight to earlier reports that a cheaper iPhone model or possibly even a larger-screen new iPad would be unveiled the same day the iPhone 5s is announced. The site said that the Cupertino tech giant would reveal “two new types of devices.”

Apple has released a new model of its popular smartphone every year since 2007.

The first four models of the Apple handset – iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4, were all released in June and went on sale around a week or so later.

The most recent models released by the company, the iPhone 4s and iPhone 5, were announced October 2011 and September 2012 respectively, according to MailOnline.

Rumors of a summer release for the iPhone 5s began April 2012 when sources close to the tech giant as well as alleged source from the supply chain, leaked details that production has started.

One report from an American magazine suggested that the iPhone 5S would be announced on September 10 and go on sale ten days later.

Last week, reports from China claimed that the release of the new iPhones could be pushed back until the end of September and even October because of “production problems.”

Expected new specs for the upcoming iteration of the iPhones include a built-in fingerprint scanner; a technological component of the device causing the delays.

According to Dave Smith of the International Business Times, the iPhones 5S will look like the iPhone 5, but with some “cosmetic changes.”

He said that the iPhone 5S has reportedly received a battery upgrade from the iPhone 5’s 5.45 Whr capacity to a higher capacity 5.92 Whr.

Budget iPhone by Apple

There have been rumors even before summer that Apple may release a low-cost version of its handset, aimed at targeting the budget segment of the market.

Names for the rumored budget iPhone have ranged from iPhone Light, iPhone 6, and iPhone Mini. The newest title dubbed for the possible cheaper iPhone is iPhone C, according to MailOnline.

Website Weiphone leaked plastic cases suggesting the unit as the rumored iPhone C.

MailOnline reported that Brian White from Topeka Capital Markets, an analyst familiar with the iPhone market, said that the iPhone Mini could be made of plastic and could cost as low as $99. Other reports have pegged the price for the cheaper handset at $400.

Speculations for the supposed budget phone, however, are in contradiction to the comments of Apple’s marketing chief, Phil Schiller. The executive told Shanghai Evening News earlier in the year that “despite the popularity of cheap smartphones, this will never be the future of Apple’s products.”
