Glee Season 5 Cory Monteith Tribute: Lea Michele And Mike O'Malley Talk Tragedy And Finn Episode

With "Glee" season 5 set to film a Cory Monteith, Finn Hudson tribute episode, cast members Lea Michele and Mike O'Malley are speaking up about the episode and their dearly missed partner-in-crime.

With this tweet, Lea Michele is speaking out for the first time since Cory Monteith's passing. After attending a memorial for her former on-screen, off-screen boyfriend, it seems Lea Michele is ready to film the three episode planned so far for season 5.

In addition, it seems the tribute episode will also see the return of Mike O'Malley, who plays Burt Hummel, Finn's stepfather and Kurt's Dad.

"Many of my scenes on 'Glee' were with either Chris Colfer or Cory Monteith," says O'Mally according to Fashion N' Style.

"Cory had with me what was probably one of the toughest scenes I've ever acted in my career when my character had to throw his character Finn out of the house because of a slur he'd used. He was remarkable to me when we were shooting that scene over and over, just the depth of emotion he was able to betray, the sorrow, the shame."

"Ever since I met him, he was the fictional quarterback on that show and the very real quarterback on that set. He was an incredibly warm guy, welcoming to everyone who came on that show from the beginning through the new folks."

Despite filming new sitcom "Welcome to the Family," Mike O'Malley plans to join Lea Michele and the other cast members to honor Cory Monteith in the "Glee" season 5 tribute episode.

"I'm here doing 'Welcome to the Family' and we shoot one episode five days a week. But Burt is a very important role to me, it's been a great, great part, and I've said to all those guys I'll work early in the morning, late at night, Saturday, Sunday - whatever I need to do to participate in honoring Cory and his passing."

"He was, on that show, my stepson...so I certainly plan on being there."

Production for "Glee" season 5 is set to begin next month before the September 26 premiere, followed by the Cory Monteith tribute episode.
