Nexus 10 2 Release Date Rumors: Google To Launch Samsung-Built 2nd Gen Tablet In The ‘Near Future’

After unveiling the new Nexus 7, new claims are saying that the device could be joined by another updated tablet, the Nexus 10 2. And recent rumors are pointing out to a Nexus 10 2 release date set for October.

Sundar Pichai, the head of Google Chrome and Android products told that a new Nexus 10 will be available in the near future.

Amir Efrati from the Wall Street Journal posted a tweet saying, "Expect to see new 10-inch Nexus 10 Android tablet (made by @Samsung) in the near future, Google's @sundarpichai tells me"

This statement from Pichai leads to more interesting questions about possible Nexus 10 2 release date. For instance, Android and Me asked, "Could a new Nexus 10 be on the way this fall?"

Some are also saying that if the Nexus 10 2 release date will support the October-launch rumors, chances are high that it will run the latest iteration of Google mobile operating system, the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. The current models of Nexus devices are receiving Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates such as the original Nexus 10. This entails then that it would be reasonable for Android fans to assume that the Nexus 10, together with another upcoming device, the LG-built Nexus 5, will be the first devices to have Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.

On the other hand, iDigital Times shared that Nexus 10 2 release date may be set for November, since the first generation of the Samsung-manufactured Nexus tablet was launched in November of last year. This will be true if Google plans to offer a refreshed version of its Nexus devices every year.

The current Nexus 10 has 2560x1600 display screen resolution, dual-core Samsung Exynos 5 chipset, and 2GB of RAM. And with the Nexus 10 2, specs will definitely be much better so expect the device to sport a better processor, HD display and other new enhancements to make it such a great gadget buy.
