iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 Release Date: Yes, iPad 5 Will Be Launched This September, iPad Mini 2 May Not Be Released By Apple Until 2014

Release dates for the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 has been in the tech rumor mill since the current models of the tablets were launched by Apple, and according to the latest predictions of insiders and analysts, the iPad 5 will be released on September. The iPad Mini 2, however, may not see the light of consumer day until 2014.

PopHerald reported that the delay of the iPad Mini 2 is due to the low Retina yield. Earlier reports have speculated that if the Cupertino tech giant decides to infuse the smaller tablet with the Retina feature, the highest display spec for all Apple devices, the delay could be imminent.

According to the internet and social media news site, no one outside of Apple knows exactly when the first Retina 7.9-inch iPad will be in the market. Numerous analysts, however, said that part of the reason the iPad Mini 2 with Retina was delayed is because of the low quantity it can produced, which can then lead to numerous disappointed consumers who might want the new iPad Mini 2 now.

Apple, however, will push through with the launch of the iPad 5, which is speculated to be released this fall.

Reports have indicated that Apple is still selling more iPad Mini (the original model) units than its tablet computer rivals like Amazon, Samsung and Google which all runs the Android mobile operating system.

PopHerald noted that the company delaying the launch of the iPad Mini 2 suggests that it’s not concerned about its rival products offering better display technology. If the latter is true, the company may not necessarily fear the upcoming Google Nexus 7.2 tablet, which offers double pixel density per square inch than the iPad Mini 2.

The apps available in the iOS platform rake in more revenue than Google’s Android, giving more incentive for developers to create apps for the Apple tablets.

One CNET writer, however, said that it looks like Apple is resting on its laurels and that it’s not looking good for the company “at the moment.” Brooke Crothers divulged that he loves his iPad Mini but loves the Nexus 7 “better” because it features more pixels per inch, 323 PPI, and is cheaper than apple.

The tech writer said that the hardware features and price offering of Google is “hard to beat” even if you’re a market-leading company named Apple.

The iPad Mini 2 is speculated to feature the Retina Display with a 2048 x 1536 resolution, a more powerful dual core A7 processor, a 7.9 inch screen, 10 hour battery life, a FaceTime HD camera, and an iSight camera for HD recording. Apple is trying to make the device thinner by using Sharp’s IGZO technology.
