EXO, Better Sales than Super Junior, SHINee, and Girls’ Generation?

Super rookie group EXO is doing better in sales than more experienced senior groups.

EXO's first repackaged album XOXO was released on August 5, and is holding the number 1 spot on Hanteo Chart , YES24, and Aladdin Music Sales Charts for 2 weeks in a row now. The first album XOXO released in early June in both Korean and Chinese versions, and has made a whopping 500,000 sales, This repackaged album is no different.

The music market has been doing exceptionally well this season, and it's more impressive that EXO sales are doing better than Jo Yong Pil's 19th album Hello, Girls' Generation's 4th album I Got A Boy, and SHINee's 3rd album Dream Girl.

Also noteworthy is that despite being a rookie group only its second year, EXO outdid sales of other SM Entertainment senior groups that have solid fandoms in the music market. This includes even that of Super Junior, who boasts 6 albums in 3 years and is labeled as the "music king."

EXO is not only popular in Korea, but is having exceptional success in the international markets as well. It was number 1 in record sales on U.S. Billboard World Albums Chart, and on various music sales charts in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Thailand. EXO also took the number 1 spot last week on KBS2 "Music Bank" and SBS "Inkigayo" with their new song "Growl."
