Psy, Park Jin Young, Yoon Jong Shin Express High Expectations for YG's ‘WIN’

Psy, Big Bang, 2NE1, and other YG artists as well as producers and veteran singers such as Park Jin Young and Yoon Jong Shin expressed their high expectation of the new YG survival boy band project "WIN."

They were featured on YG Entertainment's official blog page in a preview video of the new YG project "WIN", a TV-aired program in which two groups of YG trainees battle to become the next YG boy band.

In this video, Psy says, "'Win' is a survival program that fits with today's society, and it's going to be brutal, but it will be highly entertaining."

Big Bang and 2NE1 were very surprised at the rules and regulations of the survival audition program. G-Dragon stated that it's going to be a "real warzone", expressing his expectation of how the show will turn out.

JYP and Yoon Jong Shin, producers who carry similar responsibilities as Yang Hyun Suk, YG CEO, also expressed their high expectations for this program. "Just the fact that they're having this kind of program reveals to us their confidence in their trainees. They're saying regardless of who wins, YG will succeed in the winner. It's really a display of YG Power."

"WIN" will be broadcasted on August 23 on Mnet and tvN, and will feature 11 contestants who have all been trained for years through the YG training system. They will be divided into two teams, and will go through a harsh and difficult "battle" period. One group will emerge as the victor, take the title of "WINNER" and debut under that name.

Team A is made up of Kang Seung Yoon, who was featured on the audition program "Superstar K2" on Mnet, as well as Lee Seung Hoon, who was featured on "Kpop Star" on SBS, and others as a 5-man group. Team B has B.I, who debuted on MC Mong's "Indian Boy" as a 12 year old, as well as Koo Jun Hwe, who was also on "KPopstar," and others as a 6-man group.

"WIN" is a 100% real survival battle program that's going to leave the entirety of the decision to the audience. YG producers, artists, and special guests will be featured as mentors and guides for the two groups.

This program will broadcast internationally starting on September 17th through Star TV Cable Channel V and Fox Cable Channel M and will air in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Maldives, Macao and other Asian countries. It will be aired in China through the largest Chinese video website Youku exclusively.
