‘Jurassic Park 4’ Release Date, New Title Announced; Fans On Twitter Countdown For Highly Anticipated 3D Reboot

The "Jurassic Park 4" release date and a new title were announced Tuesday, and fans on Twitter are already counting down for the highly-anticipated reboot of the "Jurassic Park" franchise.

The Huffington Post reports, via AP, that the fourth installment of "Jurassic Park" has a name: "Jurassic World."

Universal Pictures announced the film's new title and release date Tuesday. The sequel will hit theaters in 3-D on June 12, 2015.

The studio also announced that Colin Trevorrow will direct the film and Steven Spielberg will serve as producer, AP reports. Spielberg directed the first two "Jurassic Park" films.

The "Jurassic Park" dinosaur franchise has grossed $1.9 billion at the box office worldwide since the first film was released in 1993.

Though no actors have been announced yet, fans of the dinosaur franchise are already counting down the days till the newest "Jurassic Park" installment releases in theaters. Their reaction to the reboot is mixed, but overall it seems curiosity will be enough to draw audiences to see the film.
