iPhone 5C Price: Chinese Consumers Angry At 'Not So Cheap" Phone, Apple Likes It

Ever since Apple's event on Tuesday, everyone has been asking what happened to the supposedly cheap iPhone 5C price. And above all, it will be replacing the more premium-looking iPhone 5 in the market.

So if you are among the people who are waiting for this handset for Apple, you will definitely feel disappointed about it. And guess who are one of those affected markets - the Chinese.

In the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, users are definitely pissed off with the reported price tag of the iPhone 5C. Several months back, it has been reported that the plastic-covered smartphone will be aimed at China - the world's largest market as far as mobile phone sales is concerned.

In China, the iPhone 5c will retail for CNY4488 ($733), which is more than half the price of Xiaomi's recently announced flagship phone. Priced at just CNY1,999, or $327, the Android phone boasts high-end specifications and features which are said to rival that of Samsung and even Apple's.

In spite the outcry of the Chinese market for the disappointing iPhone 5c price, Apple still sees the silver lining.

According to tech website The Next Web, this means there are still Chinese consumers who are waiting to get their hands on Apple's products, particularly the iPhone. It still means that they still care for pricing and whatnots for the new Apple phones.

Hopefully, the Cupertino company manages to find the balance between innovation and desire to make more money.
