X-Men Days of Future Past Plot Rumor: Wolverine Will Die? Hugh Jackman Hints At Last Performance, Biggest Mutant Gathering At Anticipated Sequel

The much-awaited sequel "X-Men: Days of Future Past" will feature time travel, mutant groups from two different eras and-death? There's a possibility that this is the last time we see Jackman as Wolverine.

The Australian actor was in the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), and in an interview with MTV News, shared some cryptic statements: "It may be the last. By the way, it didn't hit me until three weeks before the end [of shooting 'X-Men: Days of Future Past], because we promoted 'The Wolverine' and I came back on set with three weeks to go, and that's when I went, 'Well, who knows? Maybe there's no more Wolverine. Maybe this is it. Who knows? Maybe.' So I really made the most of those last few weeks. I enjoyed every time I put the claws on."

Even the versatile actor is uncertain, or maybe just ambiguous. Wolverine is his most recognized character, the role that made him a global household name. He first donned the claws in "X-Men" (2000). His latest appearance released last July 26, "The Wolverine" has already passed the $360 million worldwide gross mark.

Jackman made sure that he is not short of mementos: "I nicked everything off the set, so Halloween, come to me and I'll hook you up."

The next X-men Sequel will serve as the venue for what is dubbed as "The Great Mutant Mash-up" when the X-Men from two different eras will be featured.  Even Wolverine himself, is awed by the immensity: "I keep saying it's like two movies in one, but with the size of it it's really three in one. It really is going to blow people away because of the story."
