Homeless Teen Facing Arrest For Eating School Lunch Without Permission; "Not A Bad Person, Just Hungry," Logan Santos, South Carolina Homeless Teen, Says

A homeless South Carolina teen is facing charges because he ate lunches in a school without permission.

South Carolina is now treating homelessness as a crime...so it was only a matter of time before homeless people would be arrested for trying to find a place to eat or sleep.

The homeless teenager, Logan Santos, 17, was living in a friend's car. He would leave the car during school lunch periods to eat on campus and walk around with his friend. However, concerned parents called Horry County Police Department officials to tell them that there was someone on the school grounds who didn't belong there.

Santos used to go to the school, Carolina Forest High School. Now, he has been is facing criminal charges for eating school lunches at his former school.

Because he is no longer a student, the school said that he isn't covered by a program to help homeless students who need food and other necessities.

The homeless South Carolina student is charged with eating school lunches because he waited for his friend to return to the car with lunch, which they ate together, then walked around the campus.

Santos contacted the local news and said that he's not a bad person, but that he was hungry and worried about starving.

There is currently a warrant for Santos' arrest out. He will be charged with disturbing a school.

The friend who was letting his homeless pal stay in his car has been suspended for letting a stranger on campus.

His stepfather Alfred Souza told press after questioning that recently, Logan Santos came home for about a week. He looked unhealthy and underweight, but then left again, "We've given him a beautiful house to live in. He chooses not to live here. He took off a week ago Wednesday and we haven't see him since," he told press.

What do you thin? Should Santos have been allowed to eat lunch? Sound off in the comments below!
