Liam Payne’s Best Friend Can Now Walk After The Gas Blast: One Direction Star Has No Regrets Saving His Pal From The Horrifying Fire

Liam Payne's pal, Andy Samuels, is finally recovering from the pain that he went through following the gas explosion at the singer's East London luxury flat. In a series of tweets, he talked about his recovery:

"Been a week now. Still in ridiculous amounts of pain and struggling a lot."

"I am improving though and staying strong with everyone's support."

"Ohh and I walked for the first time yesterday which was painful as s*** but a good sign!! :) "
 

The shirt designer spent four days fighting for his life in the intensive care unit of. He suffered from face and hands burns.

The 20-year-old 1D star's patio heater exploded while Samuels was attempting to re-fill it. While it would be a normal reaction to run outside for safety, Payne did not think twice in going outside to drag his pal away from the blazing fire.

Thirty-five firefighters immediately responded though they needed to use heavy-duty breathing equipment to stop the fire which has destroyed the unit's terrace roof. About thirty people needed to evacuate the residential building which also includes a health club and cinema.

In One Direction's blockbuster film 'This Is Us', the English pop star revealed that if he wasn't chosen to be a part of the band, he would have been a fireman because he wanted to save lives. His desire to save others has been proven by the balcony incident.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
