Upcoming Windows Phone 2013: Microsoft To Rival Apple's 'Siri' With 'Cortana', Sparks Interest Among Halo Fans

In spite the sale of Nokia to Microsoft, we are still expecting upcoming windows phone 2013 which would become industry-changers and trend-setters. It seems the Redmond company has finally made waves with this marketing and innovation strategy.

Several tech websites reported yesterday that Microsoft is planning to create its own 'Siri' like feature for their upcoming Windows Phone devices. Codenamed as 'Cortana', the virtual personal assistant derived its name from the AI sidekick and guide of Halo protagonist John-117 or Master Chief.

According to ZDNet, Cortana "will be able to learn and adapt, relying on machine-learning technology and the "Satori" knowledge repository powering Bing."

Chris Matyszczyk of CNet on the other hand, expects Microsoft's own version of 'Siri' to be 'more human' in a sense that it can make statements and questions similar to a real human. While such hopes are a little bit farfetched as of the moment, it would certainly become a hit if Microsoft manages to nail it.

Even without an official name for the personal assistant on Windows Phone OS, Halo fans have already expressed their anticipation, some even willing to buy any Windows Phone as long as they hear the original voice of Cortana which is from voice talent Jen Taylor.

Some fans even want to see the real thing on their mobile phones, so they 'don't just talk to the microphone'.

This move is a certainly a plus for Microsoft as it will tap both the smartphone and gaming consumers with one sleek feature.
