Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Release Date: Version 4.4 KitKat To Launch On Oct. 4 Alongside Nexus 5

If you are still looking for the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, you may be disappointed to know that nothing is coming anymore. However, it will definitely be great news for you to know that the next version, Android 4.4 a.k.a. is already around the corner.

In a report by AusDroid, the highly-anticipated upgrade of Google's operating system may be released on October 14, together with the Nexus 5, which has also been in the rumor mill for weeks.

Along with the rumored release date, the report also indicated some of the upgrades and additions Google will make on devices which the new version will support.

  • Availability of the firmware for old phones
  • Screen resizing or fragmentation changes
  • Miracast updates
  • New gallery visualization features
  • New API's which are connected to animations
  • Change the Android default blue to other colors
  • New notification widgets

According to GSM Arena, Aus Droid said it has not yet confirmed whether its tipster's reports are accurate, but nevertheless, it makes sense. A few weeks back, Google built and announced the KitKat statue on the company's grounds, which means the Android update may take place sooner rather than later.

On the other hand, the Nexus 5 has been reported passing FCC documents, which also means an impending release. Let us all wait and see whether the new Android update will meet all our expectations.
