X-Men Days Of Future Past: Wolverine, Magneto Has Vicious Fight Scene; Jackman Talks Oscars

Hugh Jackman is the Australian actor who broke into instant superstardom when he was chosen to play Wolverine in Bryan Singer's original "X-Men" in 2000. Now, Bryan Singer is back to helm "X-Men: Days of Future Past." It might be an ominous reunion, as this could be the last time Jackman dons the adamantium claws.

In an interview with The Daily Beast, Jackman talks about his director: "Bryan is very ambitious to make the best movie of them all. He's got the biggest cast, the biggest budget, and he started it all, so it's his legacy. He's a fan of time-travel movies, and the detail that's gone into it is incredible. I'm quietly confident that it will be the biggest and the best of them all. When I sat there on that panel at Comic Con, and looked down at all the actors, you think, 'This might be one of the best ensembles ever assembled.'"

In the movie, Wolverine is sent back in time with a mission for the younger X-Men (X-Men:First Class). He will inevitably encounter the younger Magneto (played by Michael Fassbender). Wolverine has several grudges against the renegade mutant leader, and the younger Magneto would not have a clue.

Jackman teases us further: "It's fair to say we don't get on that well. I get sent back to the past and he has no idea who I am, but you can imagine Wolverine has a bit of fun with that."

The star of Les Miserables was not just an Oscar nominee, he was also a one time host. He laments the challenge of that role:  There's no winning. I remember Baz Luhrmann coming up to me two days after the Oscars and he said, "I don't care what the L.A. Times says, I thought you were great!" and I hadn't read any of the reviews, so I was like, "Wait ... what did they say?"
