Miley Cyrus ‘Wrecking Ball’ Meaning: ‘You Can Tell I Look More Broken’, Says The Pop Star, Is She Pertaining To Her Split With Liam Hemsworth?

After garnering over 111 million views on YouTube, 'Wrecking Ball' is without a doubt one of the history's much watched videos. However, most of the viewers perceived the music video as an extension of her salacious performance at the MTV VMAs 2013.

The music video shows Cyrus provocatively licking a sledgehammer and swinging on a wrecking ball without any clothes at all. The former Disney star, for the first time, spoke about the real meaning of the song and the video.

In her interview with Elvis Duran, she said that viewers must strive to unearth what the video's imagery really meant instead of jumping right away into conclusions: "I think the video is much more. If people get past the point I make, and you actually look at me, you can tell I look more broken than even the song sounds."

The 'We Can't Stop' singer also declared her sadness while filming the video: "If people can take their minds off the obvious and go into their imagination and see what the video really means, it is so vulnerable. If you look at my eyes, I look more sad than actually my voice sounds on the record. It was a lot harder to actually do the video than it was to even record the song. It was much more of an emotional experience."

Terry Richardson directed the music video wherein a close-up of Cyrus's face with a tear rolling down her cheek was also shown.

The 'Hannah Montana' actress similarly acknowledges the existence of her detractors: "Kind of anything that I do at this point it becomes such this big deal and for me, I'm just having fun and whatever people label it as, it doesn't really matter. I'm just having fun."

Apart from her detractors, another reason for her sadness might be her relationship with Australian actor Liam Hemsworth for reports have recently circulated that the engagement of the two was already called off.
