Lindsay Lohan’s Mother Arrested For Drunk Driving: Ex-Husband Thinks Dina Lohan Should Enter Rehab!

Fifty-year-old Dina Lohan was arrested on Thursday night on charges of drunk driving. Lindsay Lohan's stage mother has been stopped by policemen for allegedly driving her white BMW in an unusual speed on the Northern State Parkway.

While the area is a 55 mph zone, Mrs. Lohan was driving 77 mph. A breath test eventually revealed her blood alcohol concentration to be .20 percent or more than twice the legal limit. She was similarly issued a speeding ticket.

When she was brought to the Farmington Police Station for questioning, the mother of four claimed that she had been injured during the arrest. However, physicians declared that her body did not suffer from injuries.

In an exclusive interview, the 'Mean Girls' star's father expressed his concern for their family: "At first, shock. But then, you know, you can't keep doing the same thing over and over again and not expect it to catch up to you. It's unfortunate though. The kids don't need this at their point in their life. Lindsay's on a great path and it's hurtful. But it could work out for the better. I mean if she finally goes and gets treatment."

Mrs. Lohan's ex-husband also emphasized her need for rehabilitation treatment: "Of course ... It's kind of evident from the past situations she's been in, in the Hamptons and 'Dr. Phil' and so on and so forth that she needs to do something about it. Maybe this is what's going to turn her life around."

In an interview with 'Dr. Phil' last fall, Mrs. Lohan made headlines because of her seemingly irrelevant answers. Viewers were quick to speculate that she was drunk.

Mrs. Lohan's lawyer, Mark Jay Heller, is confident that his client's case will not yield serious consequences: "As an attorney with 45 years of experience, I am confident that as a first time offender, with absolutely no prior record, that the Judicial System will treat Dina Lohan with even-handed fairness."

Her daughter, Lindsay, has not yet spoken about her mother's arrest. After her rehabilitation stint, the 'Parent Trap' actress is trying to get back on track. Apart from recently appearing as a guest host in 'Chelsea Lately', she will also create a series of documentary about starting a new life for Oprah Winfrey's show.
