David Beckham Hailed As The New Face Of British Brand Belstaff: ‘Because Of Victoria, I’m Around The Fashion World A Lot More,’ Football Star Says His Wife Is His Influence

One of Britain's renowned fashion labels, Belstaff, opened its store with a big party. London's New Bond Street was closed as a bunch of bikers have been enlisted to participate in the party with their vintage motorbikes. The inauguration was made more special with the appearance of 38-year-old David Beckham, the newest endorser of the brand.

The football athlete unfortunately was not able to ride a bike for his license is only valid in the US and France. Nonetheless, Beckham affirmed his fascination for bikes.

"The reasons I am excited about becoming part of this brand are A) Because it is such an historical, British brand and B) Because Steve McQueen was one of the first people to be part of Belstaff and I am a huge fan of his. Just to be part of this, as a biker, is great: after so many years of playing football I now spend a lot of time riding bikes. And to have clothes like that is great," said Beckham when asked how he felt about being chosen to be the brand's front-liner.

He has also acknowledged his wife's role in his fashion ventures: "Because of Victoria, I'm around the fashion world a lot more. I'm learning a lot, I'm seeing a lot and I'm enjoying it."

Apart from spending much time with his wife and four children, the retired footballer is similarly working on a new line for H&M.
