Kanye West Fashion Show Appearances At NYFW Almost Never Happened Due To Designers Thinking The Rapper Would Jock Their Ideas For His New Clothing Line
Kanye West's fashion show appearances at NYFW almost didn't occur due to designers being weary of the rapper stealing their ideas for his new clothing line.
“It was something that was discussed beforehand — ‘Do we let him in and risk our ideas being sold off by him?’ ” said and insider to New York Daily's Confident@l.
Kim Kardashian's rapper baby daddy was seen sitting in the front row of Alexander Wang, Diesel Black Gold, Hood by Air, and Louise Goldin fashion shows.
The source also suggested that Yeezus was only present due to his need to find innovative ideas for his upcoming line.
“He is there because he is coming out with a new clothing line and is desperate for ideas on what’s hot," said the source.
When Confident@l caught up with North West's pops at the Diesel show on Tuesday to question him, he replied with an outburst.
"Don't ask me any questions!" yelled Kanye, according to Confident@l. When the reporters tried to quiz him again, the rapper made a quick exit while they were allegedly roughed up by security.
Currently Kanye is looking for a vice president of production and a chief financial officer via Linkden for his new label.
“Will leverage Mr. West’s success in high fashion and music to bring accessible style to malls and other outlets across America and around the world,” says the job posting.
This isn't Kanye's first fashion venture. In 2011 Yeezy launched his first clothing line. He recently collaborated with French fashion house A.P.C. on a menswear line and a knitwear line with Goldin, the designer husband of his manager Izvor (Izzy) Zivkovic.
