'New Girl' Spoilers: Zoeey Deschanel Reveals Awkwardness With Jess And Nick's Relationship; Bangs Will Remain Intact, Actress Said

The new season of 'New Girl' quickly follows up the ending episode of the previous season. More than being roommates, Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson) will now be an official couple.

In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the brunette beauty emphasizes that the series will show the awkward adjustments that come with every relationship's beginning.

"It seems like a bad idea to me - roommates dating. But that's part of the first episode, them realizing that they live together and they're dating. It's about them figuring out all of the things when you first start dating someone and of course, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) is trying to break them up."

Schmidt apparently finds it intimidating to live with a couple prompting Jess and Nick to think about their next move. Deschanel says that they will be driving to Mexico which will make her adopt some of the culture particularly the beach braids.

Nonetheless, the '500 Days of Summer' actress assured fans that her signature hairstyle will remain intact.  She recognizes the value that comes with her bangs: "When I change my hairstyle, I do look really different. I had a few years there when people didn't recognize me from movie to movie. I value that, and I'm going to pull it out again at some point."

Since its 2011 release, viewers have been enjoying the comical mood of 'New Girl'. According to Deschanel, it is unlikely for the series to go dark.
