Top Android Phones 2013: New HTC One Variant Now Available For Pre-Order, Phone's Outer Layer To Be Covered With 24-Carat Gold

For the past few days, we have received rumors and leaked photos of a gold-donned HTC One to compete with the iPhone 5S' champagen gold version. The rumors have been confirmed, though not in the way we expected for one of the top Android phones 2013.

According to GSM Arena, the gold casing featured in the leaked photos several days ago is actually made of gold - 24 carats to be exact. And this version of HTC One will not be sold by the Taiwanese manufacturer.

Gold Genie, a company known for producing gold-plated versions of smartphones will be offering the more expensive HTC One. And aside from the gold option, the company will also produce a platinum-plated version, as well as a 'rose gold' edition.

Pre-orders for this golden HTC one are now open for anyone who can afford to shell out some cash.

The gold version will cost about $3,015 or about three iPhone 5S smartphones.

The platinum-covered option is more expensive at around $3,332, while the rose-gold edition's price tag is about $3,173. Here's what the other two variations look like:

These aren't what we expected from HTC mainly because these are just too expensive. But who knows, the Taiwanese manufacturer may just provide its own cheaper gold version of the HTC One.
