‘Walking Dead’ Update: New Zombie Companion Series Airing In 2015, New Characters And Storylines To Watch Out For!

AMC Studios has officially announced that it will be releasing a spinoff series for 'Walking Dead' in 2015. Creator Robert Kirkman will still spearhead the series with producers Glae Anne Hurd and David Alpert.

"After 10 years of writing the comic book series and being so close to the debut of our fourth, and in my opinion, best season of the TV series, I couldn't be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of 'The Walking Dead' universe," excitedly said Kirkman in an official statement.

He has similarly hinted that the spinoff series will have a different storyline: "The opportunity to make a show that isn't tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing."

The producers of the show say that their goal for the spinoff series is not to rake cash but instead to create an apocalyptic saga that is long-lasting. While they are very careful not to reveal further details yet, they have confirmed that new characters, storylines, and perspectives will be introduced.

The official title of the spinoff series is not yet disclosed but according to the creators, a zombie-filled earth will still remain as the upcoming show's setting.
