Why Liam Hemsworth Wants Miley Cyrus To Keep The 3.5 Karat Gold Engagement Ring He Bought Her, Even After Their Split

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's split is official, but it seems they didn't break up on the worst terms ever. Liam is reportedly insisting that Miley Cyrus keep the engagement ring he bought her.

Liam Hemsworth told Miley Cyrus she could keep the Neil Lane vintage-cut 3.5 carat ring as a memento of what they once were, Perez Hilton reports.

A source close to the pair said, "[Liam] wants Miley to keep the ring. He wouldn't ask for it back. Liam told Miley to keep it and do with it what she wanted. He told her to keep it as a memento of their love affair. When Liam bought that ring, he truly believed he would be spending the rest of his life with her. Now he realizes they are both just too young to be ready for such a big commitment."

The 3.5 carat engagement ring reportedly cost $250,000 and is made up of a hand-cut vintage diamond from the 1890′s, Hollywood Life reports.

The couple was last seen together at the Los Angeles premiere of Liam's new film, Paranoia, on August 8, according to the website. Although Miley was by Liam's side on the red carpet to support his film, Liam was nowhere in sight when Cyrus gave her memorable performance at the 2013 MTV VMAs in NYC.

The officials news of their split broke on September 16, but Liam Hemsworth was already spotted kissing another woman on September 17 - literally just one day after the couple called it quits. The woman in question is Mexican singer and actress Eiza Gonzalez.

There were also reports that Miley was getting very close to her producer Mike WiLL Made It, with some hinting that the two might even be dating.
