Dark Souls 2 Release Date Set For March 2014 [OFFICIAL]; Open-World RPG From Namco Bandai Launching On Xbox 360 And PS3; PC Version To Follow

The official Dark Souls 2 release date was finally confirmed.  

According to Namco Bandai, as cited by a report from Gamespot Asia, Dark Souls 2 release date is set for March 2014 in Europe and US. Particularly, the announcement made during the pre-Tokyo Game Show conference revealed that Dark Souls 2 release date in North America will be on March 11. For its European market launch, Dark Souls 2 release date is slated for March 14.

Dark Souls 2 release will be available for Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 owners. Gamers in Europe, North America and Australasia with PS3 consoles can sign up for Dark Souls 2 beta, which will commence on October 12.

Meanwhile, Dark Souls 2 release date for PC has not been confirmed. As reported by VG24/7, game director, Yui Tanimura, told Eurogamer that the PC version is not yet complete, therefor Dark Souls 2 release date for PC has not been scheduled yet. He explained, "We're still working on what options we allow players to have in order for players to customize the spec of the PC version. Our goal is to release the PC version in the same window."

He further added, "For the PC version we're simply saying March - we're trying our best for PC and console. The reason we can't announce the specific date is we're working on more options on how to make the PC version optimal."

Dark Souls 2 will be available in three various editions for Xbox 360 and Sony PS3. One is the standard edition for Dark Souls 2, which can be purchased beginning on its release date. Those who will pre-order the open-world role-playing game will be able to snag a "Black Armor Edition" copy of the game, which comes with a metal case and the official soundtrack.

And lastly, for the die-hard fans of Dark Souls 2, the game also offers a Collector's Edition, which includes a collectible artwork, a 30-cm "Warrior Knight" figurine, a cloth map of the game world and ultimately, the "Black Armor Edition".
