Cars Found In Oklahoma Lake: Two Vehicles 40 Years Ago, Discovered With Six Skulls, Skeletal Remains Possibly Solving Unsolved Mystery

Cars found in Oklahoma lake: Two vehicles discovered at the bottom of Foss Lake in Custer County with six skulls and skeletal remains, sat 3 feet apart under 12 feet of "super murky" water.

The cars found in the Oklahoma lake is a mystery to how they got there but officials said they could very well have got there 40 years ago and a year-and-a-half apart from each other. The cars happened to be three feet from one another when they were discovered.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol's lake patrol division was testing new sonar equipment last week, according to ABC News. This is when they detected some unusual echoes that indicated the presence of large, metal objects under the water. And then there was two cars found with six skulls and remains of humans from decades back.

"It's just so crazy," Oklahoma Highway Patrol spokeswoman Betsy Randolph told ABCNews.com. "Our guys just naturally assumed this may have been a stolen car pushed off into the lake. Sometimes that happens. As soon as they pulled up the first vehicle, they found a femur bone in the driver's seat."

Cases from 40 years ago could actually be solved from this discovery, according to the authorities.

"Missing persons reports from 1969 and 1970 that originate from a neighboring jurisdiction show real similarity with the vehicles that were recovered from the lake and the investigation is proceeding along those lines," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "However, no positive identification has been made."
