Thor The Dark World Plot Needed Avengers Director To Rewrite Script; Chris Hemsworth Talks About Liam-Miley Split

"The Avengers" director Joss Whedon responded to an emergency call from "Thor: The Dark World" director Alan Taylor. Meanwhile, star Chris Hemsworth talks about his brother's controversial split.

Alan Taylor, who will also direct a Terminator reboot next year, is humble enough to admit that he hit a snag with some scenes in the latest Marvel offering, "Thor: The Dark World." Fortunately, a fellow Marvel director was on hand.

In an interview with SFX Magazine, Director Alan narrates: Joss came in to save our lives a couple of times," laughs the director. "We had a major scene that was not working on the page at all in London, and he basically got airlifted in, like a SWAT team or something. He came down, rewrote the scene, and before he got back to his plane I sort of grabbed him and said, 'And this scene and this scene?' And he rewrote two other scenes that I thought had problems. Then finally we let go of him, he took off again, and we shot the scenes; and they were just much better and much lighter on their feet. Much more fun, much more surprising than what we had been trying to do. I can relate to guys who come out of the TV world, since that's where I come from. And being able to land and work and solve a problem quickly... I really was grateful."

Meanwhile, the Thunder God himself talks about his brother, Liam and how controversial his break-up is with teen superstar Miley Cyrus on an interview with Ellen DeGeneres:  "I'm lucky. I've spoken to a few people about it. I don't know that you can ever ... It's sort of is what it is. At times you're a target and at times you're not. If you have a film coming out or who you are dating and what have you ... but um, we've been lucky, my wife and I. We kind of live a pretty simple boring kind of life. We're not rolling out of clubs at 4 in the morning. Not to say that Liam is by the way ... I mean he has once or twice," Chris jokes.
