Jennifer Garner Pleads Paparazzi To Spare Her Children: ‘Alias’ Actress Says That Her Children Are ‘Private Citizens’ Who Do Not Deserve To Be Traumatized

Forty-one-year-old actress Jennifer Garner is more determined than ever in her legal fight against the paparazzi in California after her children got harassed. Over the weekend, the actress was enjoying a seemingly harmless stroll at a famer's market in Pacific Palisades, California with her three children: Violet, 7; Seraphina, 4; and Samuel, 1.

However, the mother's fun day with her children was halted when she noticed that a male photographer was stalking them. The 'Alias' actress then stood in front of the photographer and took a photo of him using her phone.

For Ben Affleck's wife, the photographers are becoming too intrusive and that their children are being traumatized in the process. Last month, she testified before California lawmakers. As she recalled her ordeal, the actress couldn't help but cry: "I chose a public life [but] my three children are private citizens. I love my kids. They're beautiful and sweet and innocent, and I don't want a gang of shouting, arguing, lawbreaking photographers who camp out everywhere we are all day every day to continue traumatizing my kids."

Apart from Garner, 46-year-old actress Hall Berry has similarly complained about the threatening photographers. She testified that her 5-year-old daughter, Nahla, was once taunted by a photographer. The two actresses are urging California lawmakers to have laws that will not allow children to be photographed without the permission of their parents or legal guardians. If finalized, offenders of such law will be mandated to pay fines or even serve jail time.

On the other hand, photographers insist that they are merely doing their jobs and that celebrities are acting unrealistically:  "You cannot be in a paparazzi hot zone and not expect to get photographed. It's ridiculous.  It's kind of like, you know, going to the crocodile den and expect not to be eaten," said Henry Flores to ABC News.
