Kim Dong Wan Cast as Lead Role for "Le Passe-muraille" Protagonist

Shinhwa member Kim Dong Wan has been cast as Dutilleul, the main protagonist of the musical "Le Passe-muraille" or "The Man Who Passed Through Walls." It's his first return to the musical scene in two years.

He will perform over three months at the Dae Hak Ro Art Center in Seoul.

"Le Passe-muraille" was first performed in Korean in 2006. It's a story of a mailman named Dutilleul who realizes that he has a special ability to pass through walls, and the ensuing episodes as Dutilleul employs his new power around town.

This isn't Kim Dong Wan's first foray into the musical scene. In 2011, he played the protagonist Hedwig from "Hedwig and the Angry Inch." His role as a transgender homosexual made the show sell out every single night, and even brought international fans from Japan, China, Taiwan and Philippines to watch the show.

Kim Dong Wan followed up his stellar performance in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" with appearances in critically acclaimed TV movie "Jul Jung," blockbuster hit "Deranged," and the wildly popular TV series "Cheer Up, Mister Kim." Because he never failed to give strong performances in all of the previous appearances, fans are highly anticipating Kim Dong Wan's portrayal of Dutilleul, the man who passes through walls.

Liveworks, Kim Dong Wan's management company, stated, "Kim Dong Wan's passion for this role is second to none, and he is sure to give a fantastic performance. His wish is to give a very special performance for everyone who comes to watch the musical, especially during the holiday season."
