Fall Concerts that Can’t Be Missed! Fall Concert Ticket Wars Have Begun

Autumn in Korea coincides with music festivals, which are essentially concerts held over a couple of days, similar to Coachella. The two biggest concerts are 'Jarasum Jazz Festival' and 'Grand Mint Festival', and this year there are an abundance of new music festivals following suit in every different flavor of music. Jazz, Classic, Rock, Hiphop - festivals for all the music styles that you crave are happening this autumn.

As you might expect, ticket sales have been soaring for these music festivals. Let's take a look at few of the biggest festivals coming this fall.

Festivals You Can't Miss

'Jarasum International Jazz Festival' is meeting its 10th anniversary. One of the biggest Asian jazz festivals, it will be held from October 3rd to the 6th. Famous international performers such as Lee Ritenour and Kenny Barron Trio, as well as Korean musicians Jung Sung Jo Quintet and Na Yoon Sun is set to perform. Some 50 performers are lined up for this festival.

'Grand Mint Festival' is geared toward the easy listening crowd. Fueled by unrivaled ticket sales by young adults in their 20s and 30s, 'Grand Mint Festival' has grown to be the number one fall music festival. It will be held from October 19th to the 20th, featuring 50 performers such as Lee Seung Hwan, Jaurim, Jang Kiha and the Faces, 10cm, Urban Jakapa, and Sweet Sorrow.

Concerts of Different Flavors

For Hip Hop lovers, the two biggest concerts are '2013 The Cry - Stand Up Korea' and 'K-HipHop Nation'.  '2013 The Cry - Stand Up Korea' will be held on October 12th and features 20 artists from Korean hip hop's most prominent labels including LeeSsang, Garion, Primary, Verbal Jint, Swings and Bumkey.

'K-HipHop Nation' will be held on October 26th and 27th and will feature big names such as Bobby Kim and the Buga Kingz, Epik High, LeeSsang, and Yang Dong Gun, as well as newer names such as Baechigi, Bumkey, Geeks and Mad Clown.

For Rock'n'Roll lovers, there are two must-go venues coming up. 'Ssamji Sound Festival' is being held on October 3rd and will feature prominent rockers such as Crying Nut, Luxe, and Sister's Barbershop. '2013 Korean Live Music Festival' will be held on October 12th and 13th and will feature rockers such as Kim Bada, Tracking Device in My Ear, and Transfixion as well as softer artists YOZOH and Captain Kim and the Windy City.

Must Go Concerts

If you're looking for the unique flavor of urban hip-hop, 'Real Music Festival - The Black', might be for you. It will be held on October 19th and will feature R&B and Soul music stars Gummi, Musiq Soulchild, and Skull. The biggest name in the venue, however, is Wu-Tang Clan. It will be a mix of national and international artists.

Fans of the 1st generation of K-pop will appreciate the 'Revival 1990's Night Club Concert - Wolves and Foxes.' All of the K-pop sensations from the 90's plan attendance, including H.S.g.R, COOL, Koyote, R.Ef, Noise, JAM, Country Kko Kko, and CLON Koo Jun Yeop. Ticket sales have been mostly geared toward adults in their 30s.

Lastly, if you're looking for some healing for your heart, the 'Joy All Park Festival' might be for you. It will feature classical and crossover artists such as Steve Barakatt, and Edgar Noh as well as Lee Eun Mi, YOHZO, and Kim Ye Rim. They will also feature lecture sessions from four speakers titled "Lectures for the Healing of Your Heart" that promises the listener will be revitalized with vigor for life once again.
