Family Entertainment Shows - Who Is the Next Yoon Hoo?

MBC's "Where Are You Going, Dad?" is the runaway hit of the year in the entertainment program category. Other broadcasting companies are following suit with what is being called the "Family Entertainment Program" genre. KBS's pilot of "Superman Returns" met favorable reviews and is gearing up for a full season. SBS will air "Oh! My Baby" next month.

"Oh! My Baby" is particularly interesting because whereas "Superman Returns" and "Where Are You Going, Dad?" dealt with celebrity fathers and their children, "Oh! My Baby" focuses on the relationship between celebrity grandparents and their grandchildren, which should provide an interesting dynamic.

Why is the Family Entertainment Program genre on the rise? These programs provide both laughter and touching, sweet moments. It is both educational and entertaining for the children, and the parents who watch these programs get a better insight to the children's psyche as well.

As more and more of these family entertainment programs begin to air, the children who appear in the programs are becoming stars. Yoon Hoo is a particular fan favorite for his polite demeanor, love for food, honesty, and just general lovable attitude.

Who will follow in his footsteps? KBS' "Superman Returns" features four families, including Chu Sung Hoon's lovely daughter, Lee Hui Jae's twin sons, Lee Hyun Woo's two sons, and actor Jang Hyun Seung's playful sons.

SBS' "Oh! My Baby" revealed that actor Im Hyun Sik and his grandson will be featured, but the other families who will participate have not yet been revealed.
