Key's Musical Was Cancelled In Favor Of SHINee Comeback

Due to the preparations for the comeback of the five member male group SHINee, Key's show for the 10th of Bonnie and Clyde has been cancelled.

One of the representatives for the musical spoke up to further explain the discrepancy and what will happen now: “Due to his pre-recording for SHINee’s comeback, we decided to cancel the musical performance. We gave a refund to the audience members who wanted it and the canceled performance is set to take place on the 25th.

While Um Ki Joon, Han Ji Sang, and Hyungsik have the same role, it was impossible to change cast members because we already had a fixed schedule. Also, in relation to the circumstances surrounding the date Key was to participate, it would actually be hard to change the actor because many of the tickets were bought by the idol singer’s fans.“

Because of the sudden cancellation, critiques have not been going soft on the cast and the musical production. Topics of gossip are on fire regarding the musical and their arbitrary cast selection for the main purpose of getting the musical more publicity than it would had they chosen a more credible cast. Another rep of the musical stated that although they have a big cast and there have been cases of schedules being switched due to complications, no one has ever decided to take a break from the musical for the entire day. And seeing as Key plays the lead, Clyde, there was no reason for them to go on.

SM also released a statement regarding the cancellation, “We sincerely apologize for unintentionally having caused an inconvenience. We ask for your generous understanding for the sake of SHINee’s vigorous activities.“
